Jesus: Adam 2.0 FINAL

Jesus and Adam have a lot in common, but Jesus finished and restored where Adam failed.

Adam was made in God’s image (Gen 5:1)

Jesus is the image of the invisible God (Col 1:15)

Adam was the first man created (Gen 1:27)

Jesus was the first born of all creation (Col 1:15)

Adam chose in the garden to live out his will, not God’s (Gen 3:6)

Jesus chose in the garden to live out God’s will, not His (Luke 22:42)

Adam’s wife was birthed out of his side (Gen 2:21-22)

Jesus’ wife was birthed out of His side (John 19:34)

Sin began at a tree (Gen 3:6)

Sin was paid for at a tree (Gal 3:13)

Adam was asleep when his wife was taken (Gen 2:21-22)

Jesus was dead when He birthed the church (John 19:33-34)

Adam woke up (Gen 2:21-23)

Jesus rose again (Matthew 28:7)

Adam was told to be fruitful and multiply (Gen 1:28)

Jesus gave the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19)

Adam was given dominion over the earth (Gen 1:28-30)

Jesus demonstrated that (Matthew 8:27)

Adam ate of the fruit of the tree (Gen 3:6)

Jesus won’t drink of the vine until the wedding feast (Matthew 26:29)

Through Adam death entered the world (Rom 5:12)

Through Jesus life entered the world (John 1:4)

Adam was the son of God (Luke 3:38)

Jesus is the Son of God (Luke 1:35)

Adam was placed in the garden (Gen 2:15)

Jesus was mistaken for the gardener (John 20:15)

Adam covered his own sin (Gen 3:7)

Jesus covered our sin (1 Jn 2:2)

Adam took the animal skins (Gen 3:21)

Jesus left the sheet (Luke 24:12)

Adam returned to dust after he died (Gen 3:19)

Jesus’ body would never decay (Psalm 16:10, Acts 2:27, Acts 2:31, Acts 13:34)
